Mykonos Tunic Crochet Dress

Summer represents warmth, affection, enjoyment, family time, vacation, beach toys, holiday and fun!!

A dress you can be proud to say you made by yourself!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Materials

3-5 skeins of cotton  or other fiber yarn

I used ALIZE Cotton Baby Soft

50%cotton-50% acrylic

 Color 55 White

100gr =270m=295yds

For sizes XS, S, M you will need 880 -1050 yds

For size XL you will need 1200 yds

For size 2XL you will need 1250 yds

For size 3XL you will need 1300 yds

For size 4XL you will need 1350 yds

Crochet Hook

J/10 US (6mm)

Gauge

3 clusters in a row =4,33 inches (11 cm) wide

6 rows of pattern =4   inches  (10,5 cm) long

Sizes: Adult  XSmall (Small,Medium,Large, XLarge, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL)

MEASUREMENTS

XSmall: width of front panel=17,30 inches(44 cm) ,

 Length from shoulder to bottom= 31,50 inches (80cm)

Small: width of front panel=18,50 inches(47 cm) ,

 Length from shoulder to bottom= 31,50 inches (80cm)

Medium: width of front panel=20,50 inches( 52cm)

Length from shoulder to bottom= 31,50 inches (80cm)

Large: width of back panel=22 inches (56 cm)

 Length from shoulder to bottom= 33,46  inches (85cm)

XLarge: width of front  panel=23,60 inches(60 cm) ,

CROCHET PROJECT

*We crochet 1 Front panel with a simple V shape in neckline

*We crochet one back panel (simple rectangle)

* we sew the shoulders and the sides

The foundation chain for this pattern should be a multiple of 5+1 

FRONT PANEL

Chain 66(71, 81,91, 96,101,106)

Row 1: insert hook in 8th ch from hook, and work a V st (=dc, ch3, dc),ch1 *  sk 4 chains , work V st in 5^th ch, ch1*, rep from * to * to last 3 chains, sk 2 ch, dc in last chain , you have 12(13, 15, 17,18,19,20,21) V sts , turn

Row 2: ch3, work a cluster in first ch3 sp( of V st of prev row), work cluster in every ch3 sp to the end of row, dc in 6^th ch (of initial ch7),  12(13,15, 17,18,19,20,21 ) clusters , turn

Row 3: ch4, work Vst in 4rth dc of first cluster of prev row, ch1, work V sts, in 4rth dc of  each cluster of prev row to the end, ch1, dc in top of initial ch3      12(13,15, 17,18,19,20,21) V sts, turn

Row 4: ch3, work  cluster in first ch3 sp( of V st of prev row), work cluster in every ch3 sp to the end of row, dc in 3^rd  ch (of initial ch4),  12 (13,15, 17,18,19,20,21 ) clusters, turn

 SizesXS,S,M= rows 5-34,  rep rows 3 and 4.

Sizes L,XL,2XL= rows 5-36,  rep rows 3 and 4.

Sizes 3XL,4XL= rows 5-38,  rep rows 3 and 4.

Note: at this point check the length, dress is long till the chest point, if you want a longer dress you can crochet more rows and then you start the Vshaping of neckline.

Do not break yarn,  you will be working  row 1 ( First separation row, a V st row) and start creating  the V shape neckline.  You will be working  till the middle of our piece , turning  back and continuing  crocheting in rows , only for the left  panel of the dress.

LEFT FRONT PANEL

Note: you are on the wrong side of the dress(, you are going to be crocheting a  V sts row), FIRST   place a marker :

For sizes S,M,L,2XL,4XL  in 4rth dc of the middle cluster of last row worked for the front whole panel.

For sizes XS,XL,3XL place the marker in between 2 central clusters of the row.

Row 1: ch4, work V sts, in next 6(6,7,8,9,9,10,10) clusters of prev row , ch1,dc in 4rth dc of next cluster( it is the middle cluster of the row  or work in between 2 central clusters   6(6,7,8,9,9,10,10) V sts, TURN

Note: in sizes S, M, L,2XL, 4XL, you have an odd number of clusters and there is a middle cluster , so you work there your edge  dc and turn back.

In sizes XS,XL,3XL you have an even number of clusters , work in between the 2 central clusters , your edge  dc and turn back

BACK PANEL

Work as in front  panel , no decreasing in this panel , it is a simple rectangle.

Fasten off, weave in ends

SEWING

Put the front piece onto the back, right sides facing you.

Then you will get your yarn needle and a long piece of yarn to sew.

You may wish to pin the pieces together so they don’t move around, attaching the clusters of each row of front and back panels. .

You will begin sewing right sides facing you.

 Start on the side seams from bottom up, till bottom armhole point, leaving an opening for

SIZE SMALL:  7, 08 inches (18cm) 

SIZE MEDIUM:  7,87  inches ( 20cm)

SIZE LARGE:  8,66  inches ( 22cm)

Do the same on the other side

Then sew the shoulders seam, attaching   the 5(6,7) clusters of each front panel to the back panels clusters , so you leave 3 clusters free in center back neckline.

Fasten off, weave in ends.
