My Hawai loose crochet tank top!

Hi friends!! How are you! Aloha!

Summer is here! Enjoy warm nights watching the sunset with friends on the beach!
..

This is my Hawai tank top , . It had to have the name Hawai Top , because it is inspired by Janice a new friend of mine who lives in Hawai and gave the idea to do this!

Cotton yarn is a top choice when you want to create light items like springtime garments, summer shawls and I really love it!

CROCHET PATTERN

Materials
2 skeins of cotton yarn or other fiber you like
100gr =270m=295yds
I used  ALIZE Cotton Baby Soft
50% cotton-50%acrylic
Col  62 ecru

Crochet Hook
L/11 US (8mm

Gauge
14 dc =3,93 inches (10 cm) width
 5 rows of dc= 3,93 inches (10cm) length (in this pattern I measured 3 dc rows, one row of dc, ch1, sk 1 and a dc row, in total 5 rows)

Sizes: Adult One Size , it is loose and it is a small-medium size

Abbreviations in US terms:
Sts=stitches
Ch=chain
Sl st=slip stitch
Sc=single crochet
Hdc=half double crochet
Dc=double crochet
Rep=repeat
Sk=skip
prev=previous
rnd=round

SPECIAL STS
Dc in BLO= double crochet in back loops only
If you turn your work towards you, you can see that in every dc st there are two loops. The closest one to you is the front loop while the other loop is the back loop.
Yarn over and insert your hook into the back loop only of  the dc of prev row.
 Continue making your double crochet as normal. Do the same in the next stitch and in each one across your row.
If you look on the other side of your row, you will see a little ridge to your work.

CROCHET PROJECT

-We crochet 2 panels, one for front and one (exactly the same) for the back
We sew up the side seams, until armhole point for each size.
- We attach yarn in front piece, once to the left side for the left strap and once to the right side for the right strap, to crochet the straps. We crochet the straps to indicated length for every size
- We sew the straps at back piece
Tips for the pattern
-This pattern is a repeat of 4 rows
3 rows of dc and 1 row of dc, ch1.skip 1 st, this row creates holes in the garment.

As we want a pattern loose, comfortable and wide in A shape, we are increasing in 14 rows in sizes Small and Medium and in 15 rows in sizes Large, XLarge, always the same way. That is to make 2dc in one st and in between increases the number of dc increases by one from one increase row to the other , so for example in one row, we crochet 4dc and an increase. In next increase row, we crochet, 5 dc and an increase. To help you understand the pattern, I made a sketch for every size , I drawed clearly all rows, I indicate which are the increase rows and I write down the number of dc worked  in every row and the pattern repetition , for example 4+2 dc,  5+2 dc,  6+2 dc……

CROCHET PATTERN
PANEL A (make  2)

Note : ch4 at the beginning of rows with holes(ch1, sk1, dc in next) count as one dc and ch1 space

Note : we crochet in BLO at all rows.

Before starting row 7 , attach a tail of yarn around 11 inches(30 cm)  to the other side of row 6 and ch3 , fasten off. This way we have created an extra small 3 chain foundation chain so when we reach at this side of the row we will crochet 3 dc in this foundation chain.

SEWING
Arrange the front panel on to  the back panel, right sides facing you
Then you will get your yarn needle and a long piece of yarn to sew.
You may wish to pin the pieces together so they don’t move around..
You will sew up the side seams, not from the very bottom edge. Leave an opening ( this is optional) of   4,70 inches (12cm) to the bottom and sew until the addition point of row 7 for sizes Small and Medium and until the addition of row 8 for sizes Large , XLarge , this is the armhole bottom point.

Fasten off , weave in ends
