Sc=single crochet
Hdc=half double crochet
Dc=double crochet
Rep=repeat
prev=previous
rnd=round

Special sts

Cluster =3 dc in one st
 For the cluster pattern we need a multiple of 3 sts

Slip Stitch: insert hook in indicated st, YO, draw yarn through chain and through the loop on your hook in one motion.(slip stitch made)

Working in the THIRD LOOP OF HDC only:
Hdc stitches create a third set of loops, which are found below the front and back loops. You can see these loops when you work on the back side of a hdc row.
 So having the backside in front of you and working on this side, the loops are standing in front of you.
Working through these loops creates a more visible rib on the right side of the fabric.

CROCHET PROJECT

This pattern starts from top down and we crochet  in rounds ,joining every round with a sl st and  turning so that on one round we work so the one side is facing you and on the next round you turn the  work around so the other side is facing you.
Capelet is one piece and you do not need to sew anything at the end.

CROCHET PATTERN
Chain 60, join the 2 edges with a sip stitch, bring the two edges together being careful  not to twist the foundation chain, insert your hook in the first chain, right after the slip knot  and work a slip stitch.
The two edges are joined.

Join there where the hook points.
Circle joined

Rnd 1: ch1(does not count as a st), hdc in very first st( the join st), hdc across, join with a sl st in first hdc of the round,turn (60 hdc)
Note: we join every rnd in first hdc st not in chain 1 st, so we are working the same amount of hdc

working in third loop, this is the side we are working on, the ridge is created on the other side

while working in third loop, if you stop and  turn on the other side this is what is created , a ridge

Now we are going to work so the inside is facing us and inserting our hook in third loops only of hdc sts
Rnd 2: ch1, hdc in third loop of first hdc of prev round , hdc in third loops only across, join with a sl st in first hdc of the round,turn (60 hdc)

Rows 3-6 rep row 2
Rnd 7: (increase row) ch1, *hdc in 1st st, hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st * rep from * to *across to the end, join with a sl st in first hdc of the round, turn (80 hdc)

Rnd 8:ch1, hdc in every st to the end, join with a sl st in first hdc of the round, turn (80 hdc)
Rnd 9: (increase row) ch1, *hdc in next 7 sts, 2 hdc in next st * rep from * to *across to the end, join with a sl st in first hdc of the round, turn (90 hdc)

Rnd 10:ch1, hdc in every st to the end, join with a sl st in first hdc of the round, turn (90 hdc)

Now we will work clusters pattern (3 dc in one st)
Rnd 11:sl st in first hdc of prev rnd, sl st in 2nd hdc, sl st in 3rd st, ch3, work 2 dc in the same st where you worked the 3rd sl st(=cluster made counting the ch3 also), *sk 2 sts, work cluster in next st* rep from * to * till last 2 sts( the sl sts we made at the beginning), join with a sl st in top of ch3, turn (30 clusters)

Note: now we will work clusters in every space between clusters of previous rnd ,the classic granny pattern.
Rnd 12:sl st in first dc of the cluster of prev rnd, sl st in 2nd dc, sl st in the space between clusters( this way you have come to the first space to work cluster),ch3, work 2 dc in the same space (=cluster made counting the ch3 also), work cluster in every space between clusters of prev rnd,till last 2 sts , join with a sl st in top of ch3, turn (30 clusters)
Rnd 13: rep row 12
Now we will work 2 rnds of hdc working in normal loops.
Rnd 14: ch1, hdc in every st to the end of the round,turn (90 hdc)

Rnd 15:rep rnd 14
Now we will work clusters pattern
Rnd 16: work rnd 11
Rnd 17-21: work rnd 12

Now we will work the final 5 rnds of hdc pattern
Rnd 22 : ch1, hdc in every st across to the end, working in both loops of dc of prev rnd,turn (90 hdc)

Rnd 23-26: ch1, hdc in  third loop of first hdc of prev round , hdc in every st across to the end, working in third loops only, join with a sl st in first hdc of the round,turn (90 hdc)
Do not fasten off, continue with the edging

EDGING

We work the edging so the right side is facing us.

Row :ch1, sc in first hdc of prev row,*ch2, dc in same st as sc just made, now work a puff st, inserting your hook in front post of dc from the right to the left  :YO insert hook, pull up  a loop x 6 more times, insert hook in next sc in row, pull up a loop, YO and pull  through all 14 loops on hook, ch1, sc in same sc  , ( it is the same st that we worked the sc after puff), to secure the st, work sc in next 2 sts in the row*  rep from * to*  to the end of the rnd, 27 puffy clusters made
